Spay & Neuter

• We will be able to increase the number of pets sterilized throughout the County, concentrating on services to low-income communities.

• Providing needed enhancements to the appearance and functions of every Los Angeles County animal shelter to increase the comfort and environment of the animals in our care and promote more adoptions into new loving homes. Some recently funded projects include:
  • A new horse barn at the Lancaster shelter
  • Renovations and addition of a cooling system to an animal housing room at the Downey shelter
  • Enhancements to an exercise pen, including synthetic grass and shade, at the Carson shelter
  • A new misting system at the Baldwin Park shelter
  • New footing in the large animal housing areas at the Agoura, Baldwin Park and Castaic shelters
